That's really funny, I just did a study of that top one two days ago! Just a little pen study though. I do composition studies at work while waiting for renders.

Nice. For the family sketches were you using tradition ink with nibs and brushes, or was that the result of some fancy brush pen? I just noticed the darks have some good old dip pen qualities/textures.
I also really like the colors and lighting happening in the second scene study.

I have started a new addiction for me anyway, altering action figures and dolls to sell at etsy and your robots are wonderful inspiration.
